About Us - Our History
Locally owned and operated in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia for over 20 years! In September 1993, Charles Jenkins Sr., started his lifelong dream at Whit's Market. Charlie spent countless hours making Whit's Market the best convenience store around. Sadly, in April 2013, Charlie passed away after battling lung cancer for several years. Keeping Charlie's dream alive, Patty Jenkins (Cherie's Wife) took over the store before retiring and selling the business to her three sons: Roger, Clarence and Andy.
The Fox brothers founded Fox Bros. Convenience Stores, Inc. in2014 and have been growing the business ever since. In 2016 the Fox brothers did a complete remodel of the Timberville store to offer more products and modernize it. In 2019, the Fox brothers expanded the deli at the Timberville store to include sit down seating and a wider variety of made to order foods.
In August 2021, the Fox brothers opened their second location, Capon Run General Store, in Bergton, VA. Built from the ground up, Fox Bros. offers a variety of products and services at their Bergton location. From convenience items, made to order foods, hardware items, a wide selection of automotive products, to high speed dueled and non-ethanol gas, they have its all!
They are active in their community and support many local non-profits.
